As part of the I fought the law and the law won expedition C21 students produced a piece of creative writing based on a particular style of writing within the crime genre. Students included historical context in their crime writing showing the depth of their understanding of crime and punishment in both either medieval times or the late eighteenth and nineteenth centuries. Students produced several drafts together with a linguistic commentary on the stylistic choices and literary devices they had used to show that they understood the craft of writing.
