Students have been working hard over the past four months to prepare themselves as part of crew for their practice expedition and I would like to congratulate them on their progress so far. Practice expeditions start this week and I would like to outline some important information before we set off!
Crew Bronte and Crew Nightingale will start their adventure this Friday 27 April whilst Crew Ennis Hill and Crew Davison will set out the following week on Friday 4 May.
Students will need to arrive at school on their respective dates for 7am so that we can complete a final kit check and load the mini-buses.
In preparation for the practice expedition, students have created their own walking routes in a selected area. As a matter of course, these routes will sometimes take them near rivers and/or roads. Accordingly, all students have been briefed about staying away from water and that they must stay in single file and remain vigilant whilst walking on roads.
We would therefore ask, that you reiterate the conversation we held with your son/daughter on Friday 20th April about safety around these hazards. I would also like to take this opportunity to inform you that the majority of these hazards will be supervised by a qualified member of staff.
