Today XP students went to the Lakeside Village and performed random acts of kindness and asked people to ‘Pay It Forward’.

This is part of their ‘Spread A Little Happiness’ expedition where students are reading the book ‘Pay It Forward’ by Catherine Ryan Hyde. It tells the story of a boy who did good things for three people and asked them to ‘Pay it Forward’ by doing something good for three more people.

Beautiful Work by all XP Students!!!

Random Acts of Kindness

Random Acts of Kindness – Admiral

This afternoon it was Admiral’s turn to perform Random Acts of Kindness at Lakeside Village. They handed out flowers, cakes, sweets, drinks and chocolate to the general public asking them to ‘Pay It Forward’. There were even treats for the dogs. Admiral were amazing and even picked up rubbish on the walk back to school. Thanks to Cheryl Sadler and all the team at the Lakeside Village who allowed our students to spread a little happiness!

Pay It Forward

This term in Humanities and Arts our guiding questions is ‘Can Kindness change the world?’.

We have been focusing on different faiths specifically Sikhism, Christianity and Buddhism and how their religions show kindness.

Both Skipper and Admiral have visited the Gurdwara and Doncaster Minster.

This week we have been focusing on how kindness can be shown and the impact that random acts of kindness have on people.

Based on the book Pay It Forward by Catherine Ryan Hyde our students will be performing random acts of kindness, in the hope that the kindness they give is passed on to others.

The book Pay It forward has a character called Trevor, a young boy who is set a task to Think of an idea for world change, and put it into action.  His idea was to do an act of kindness for three people and ask those people to then pay it forward.

Since ‘Pay It Forward’ by Catherine Hyde was published, the idea of Pay It Forward has inspired millions of Acts Of Kindness all over the world.

Tomorrow, 9th July our students will be performing random Acts of Kindness at Lakeside Village Outlet.

This page will document those acts of kindness.

If you are someone who received one of these Acts Of Kindness we would be really grateful if you can leave a comment about how your felt about the Act of Kindness and please Pay It Forward.
