Christmas Time in Crew Macmillan

…what a long term it’s been!!!

As we’re nearing Christmas, too, we felt that as a crew, it’s important to spread some Christmas cheer.

On Thoughtful Thursday last week, we decided to highlight some appreciations for our wonderful staff. Crew receive praise postcards a lot, so we wanted to pay it back! See some wonderful words below.

The 19th December also saw Christmas Jumper Day in school for Save The Children. I was in LOVE with my Grinch T-shirt!!! Although Crew were isolating (and as much as they moaned at me!), we did get some festive selfies! Some of Crew Macmillan are quite camera shy, though; so check out their Christmas trees!

In DofE time, Crew have been working through a whole host of First Aid scenarios using the St. John’s Ambulance resources. Last week focused around fainting, and how you would respond to someone who has fainted. Crew have produced some wonderful advice leaflets explaining what to do in such an emergency.

Our Mindful Monday this week focused on being mindful about our environment. Crew headed out bright and early for Clean up crew, and ended up (accidentally!) in a competition surrounding who could collect the most litter. Milo and Joe reigned victorious, with Vinnie and Finn a close second – Archie & I came third!!! Well done guys – that’s lots more bottles, masks, and plastic away from the school grounds!

They were absolutely less than impressed with my selfie-taking and ‘weren’t feeling photogenic’!

All that’s left to say is THANK YOU! To Crew Macmillan for working so hard during a difficult term. You’ve all settled back in brilliantly, even with the disruption of some isolation time; and I couldn’t be more proud.

Have a lovely Christmas break, and come back just as brilliantly as you’ve been working this term. Don’t eat too many (horrible!!!) mince pies!

Miss C x
