£368 raised for the British Heart Foundation

Thank you to everyone who supported me this month in raising money for the British Heart Foundation. A special mention goes to Rowena Aspden in X30 (Y7), who joined me in giving up chocolate for a month and raised £79 of her own fundraising. Well done Rowena!

Another thank you goes to all students who participated in the Fun Run on Monday 25th and Tuesday 26th. Well done!

All of your donations will be warmly received by the British Heart Foundation for their vital research into heart and circulatory diseases. It’s not too late to donate! Wear red and run for fun for the British Heart Foundation

One more week until I can eat chocolate again!

Thank you to everyone who has supported me so far in raising money for the British Heart Foundation – I pledged to go the whole of March without eating chocolate for the British Heart Foundation’s Dechox 2024 campaign. It is a cause close to my heart, and I appreciate every penny and every kind word in support. Some students have also joined me in giving up chocolate – thank you so much!

On Monday 25th (for Y7/Y8) and Tuesday 26th March (for Y9/Y10), students have been invited to bring a pound (or any amount they feel they can donate), wear red, and run for fun (a great way to keep your heart healthy) during crew time in order to show further support for this great cause. Y11s are also more than welcome to participate! Your academic crew comes first as you are very close to exam season, but if you can spare the pennies or the time to run with us, you are more than welcome!

If you would like to donate to this great cause, please follow this link to the JustGiving page, or scan the QR code in the poster below: https://www.justgiving.com/page/natalie-barton-1708372948129?utm_medium=fundraising&utm_content=page%2Fnatalie-barton-1708372948129&utm_source=copyLink&utm_campaign=pfp-share

Thank you!

🎄FXP’s Christmas Film Night!!!!🎄

Just a reminder that our new Friends of XP are hosting their first Christmas Film Night for XP & XP East students next Thursday, 7th December 2023!

The votes are in… and the viewing will be (drum roll, please)…..

🎄 HOME ALONE!  🎄

We are in need of chocolate/sweet donations for the sweet stall; plus, please search in your cupboards for any unwanted gifts you may have – we’ll have a stall to sell these on the evening!!!

We will be selling cans of pop, too, so any donations of those would be gratefully received.

As FXP is starting up again, the team have no funds to work with on these events; and so are relying on donations and volunteers to help our events run smoothly.

Let’s make the FXP Film Night a fabulous end to Christmas Day in school!

If you’re able to volunteer some time or donations, please do get in touch with your child’s crew leader, or contact Vic directly.

Donations of gifts/food and drink to be sold can be sent to XP or XPE office.

Funds raised will be put back into supporting things like quality fieldwork in expeditions, so it’s really important work!

We look forward to seeing our students next week – the film begins at XP East stairs at 4pm sharp!!!

Christmas Jumper Day – Thursday 7th December

I know it’s November – but I wanted to let you know so you have the time to get organised (and buy a Christmas jumper if you wanted to)

XP & XPE will be celebrating Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 7th December and asking pupils to bring in a donation that will go to the charity ‘Save the Children’

Christmas dinner will also be served at both schools on this day.

Thanks

Miss Jones

Charity Tuck Shop!!

C27 have been raising money as part of their final product by hosting a tuck shop on Friday break times. This week is our final push and we have LOTS for sale including crisps, biscuits, sausage rolls, toast etc. Alongside this we have the “sponge a teacher event” where students will be able to throw sponges at teachers during lunch!

The money raised is for St Johns Hospice, a local palliative care hospital which is very dear to our hearts at XP. So please bring in a £1 or 2 to support the cause!

£344 raised for Save the Children!

Hello everyone!

We are thrilled to announce that our recent Christmas jumper day and pyjama day events were a huge success! Thanks to your generous donations, we were able to raise a total of £344 for Save the Children.

We would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who participated and donated. Your support means the world to us, and we are so grateful to have such a kind and giving community.

Captain Sir Tom Moore’s 100 Challenge!

Friday 30th April 2021 saw Crew Macmillan take on Captain Sir Tom Moore’s 100 challenge – where we decided we wanted to raise £100, by walking 100 laps of the perimeter of XP.

We trialled it… and achieved 143 laps collectively. So crew showed courage; and challenged ourselves to complete 200 laps in Captain Tom’s honour. We got ourselves ready to go…

X24 Fundraising

As previously posted. This summer, X24 are taking part in fundraising for the toilet twinning scheme by walking 2 miles with 4 litres of fluid on their back, just a portion of what those we are trying to help do on a daily basis. Here is evidence from one students walk:

This is an opportunity to provide support for countries who don’t have the simple facility to wash their hands, at a time when hand washing is vital. To support please donate money via this link.

A big thankyou to everyone who donated!

Thankyou to everyone who donated money on Friday and wore their Christmas jumpers! It was lovely to see so many happy, smiley faces.

XP raised a total of £147.20.

This is a fantastic amount which will be sent to ‘Save the Children’ so it can be used to help children build a better future.
