C21 Parents Science Support website

Dear Parents,

Thank you for attending the C21 DoE Presentation night. I spent a few minutes talking about the science website we have made to support students in preparing for their mocks and GCSEs.

The link is here if you would like to support your son/daughter with managing their time by completing each weekly assignment:

Thanks

There will be an assessment on the first three acts of the play Othello on Monday 5 November for X21 students. I’ve posted guidance and some really useful resources on google classroom to help you prepare. Essentially, you need to read and annotate Act Three and then revise Acts One and Two ready to write about the play on Monday. Any problems or concerns don’t hesitate to contact me!

Good luck in your preparation!

Mr Sprakes

C21 Science extra sessions start next week

Dear Y11 Parents,

Science extra sessions will start for all students next week. They are either Wednesday, Thursday or Friday. This round of sessions will focus on content which students have not covered in their expeditions so it is vital all students attend so that they are prepared for their mock exams in January.

If there are any issues please let me know.

[email protected]

Thanks

Mr Campbell

X21 Fieldwork: Globe Theatre

On Tuesday 9th October students will visit the Globe Theatre in London for fieldwork to watch Othello.

Students need to arrive at school for 07.30 for a prompt departure at 08.00 to ensure traffic does not prevent us from getting to the performance. Our estimated return time is 22.00 again depending on traffic. Please monitor the website for regular updates on our progress. Should we be any earlier or later we will aim to let parents and carers know as soon as is possible.

To give students the most authentic Shakespeare experience possible, we have opted for standing tickets so students will need comfortable clothing and footwear.

Students will need a packed lunch, and can bring additional food for evening meal or they can bring some money to purchase some food from the services on our way home.

Should your child need travel sickness medication or any other general medication such as inhalers, please send this with in the morning and we’ll sort it from there.

Thanks for your continued support,

Mrs Smith
