PE @ XP

To achieve the above, PE at XP is predominantly taught through KS3 2 hours and KS4 1 hour a week. However, as part of our expeditionary curriculum, PE plays a significant part, where appropriate, to support Case Studies and Final Products. All students are given the opportunity to access a further qualification at KS4 through BTEC Sport. Through engaging lessons taught through XP protocols, the use of experts alongside working in expeditions and the incorporation of competitive sport.

Academic Success

Students take part in an extensive curriculum in key stage 3 which allows them to build their knowledge an practical ability from Year 7 to Year 9.   

At key stage 4 students will take core PE. During core PE students will pick an option for a 4 week block. We offer this to provide students with as many different sporting opportunities as possible and that link to the wider world. 

At keys stage 4 students will study an extra GCSE as part of leaders of their own learning. We offer BTEC tech award in sport which allows students to achieve a Level 2 qualification from Pass- distinction*. Students are taught through classroom and practical based sessions and sit a number of assessments over the 2 years. 

Our curriculum is very diverse and offers students the opportunity to develop their skills, leadership and health and fitness.
