X24 Results 2022

Wow! – What a morning!

We are so proud of the overall fantastic results that our students in the X24 at XP school achieved in our GCSE results.

Highlights include 81% of our students achieving 9-4 in English Language. 85% achieved 9-4 in History, both of these subjects are taught within the humanities lessons of our expeditionary learning curriculum. This is truly remarkable given that all of our students are entered for both English and History. We teach them in mixed ability classes all the way through to the exam.

This success is all about our culture of crew, the X24 student crew, crew leaders and staff crew surrounding the students has supported these achievements despite the disruption caused to their education by the pandemic.

However, academic achievement is only one measure of success.

Through our cross-subject expeditionary curriculum, students have enjoyed an engaging, creative and rich learning experience. This has allowed our students to engage with the world and create beautiful work that really matters and that has made a difference.

For example, all of our students in X24:

  • Have given back to our community through their work at the food bank as part of the BIG SORT foodbank campaign
  • Have given back to our school community by working with lower years to lead crew sessions
  • Have given back to our local community through their work around kindness boxes with Age UK
  • Have delivered maths tutorials to younger students in the trust
  • Have developed their presentation skills through Passage Presentations and Student Led Conferences

All of our students in X24 have been the audience for theatrical productions of:

  • A Christmas Carol
  • Macbeth
  • Romeo & Juliet

All of our students in X24 have worked purposefully at university and with experts in school including:

  • Visited Sheffield Hallam University when looking at study skills, working with medical students, doctors and professors.
  • Experts from the Holocaust Memorial Centre who worked with students delivering sessions on the Holocaust and its impact.
  • Experts who worked at the Doncaster Plant Works – the hub for locomotives including the famous Mallard and Flying Scotsman.

Through our learning expeditions our students not only gain the knowledge to pass exams, not just the cultural capital of knowing the world around them, but also the powerful knowledge to positively change the world they will adopt when they leave school.

This builds the character and resilience of our students as we allow them all to respectfully express who they are through their work. The work our students do is three dimensional:

Academic success + character growth + beautiful work = The best version of you!

We remind our students throughout their journey with us that, as adults, we are judged by who we are and the quality of our work. This is why we focus relentlessly on character growth and beautiful work as well as qualifications at XP Trust schools. Qualifications will get you through the door. Who you are and the quality of your work will get you the job, the place at university, the start up business loan.

Therefore, we are extremely proud of our staff, students, parents and the wider community that has supported our students to be the best version of themselves. We have achieved all this because of our differences.

We welcome all of our former students to join our XP Alumni to keep in touch with our schools and each other, sharing your experiences beyond our school.
