It has been a fantastic week of sport and leadership at XP. We started the week with badminton practice where we saw some great shots from students across all year groups. In PE lessons students in Year 10 and Year 11 took part in glow in the dark zumba with Abbie from Legacy Sport, some even led their own routine.
On Wednesday we hosted The Laurel Academy who played our year 7 and 8 netball team. Year 7’s started with a fast paced game with lots of goals but unfortunately could not quite catch the year 7 Laurel team, we had some outstanding performances and never gave up. Well done to our Sport leader who umpired the whole game. The year 8’s were up next and what an exciting game it was, both teams delivered some excellent plays. XP had the final edge and won 7-6 with some great teamwork performances. Well done to our players of the match.
On Thursday XP hosted Legacy Sport for their primary basketball event with the support of our Year 10 BTEC Sport leaders. Not only did the students show teamwork, communication and a positive motivating attitude they were also fantastic role models.
Thursday also saw the Key stage 3 badminton team go to the finals at Outwood adwick where a mixture of year 7-9’s played a variety of school. There were some fantastic shots played and outstanding teamwork performances.
The year 7 football team also took a trip to Outwood Adwick to play a variety of school. The first game saw a great goal as Mr Currie said an “absolute belter of goal” and a winning 1-0 victory.
