X25 Citizenship Mock Feedback

Year 11 citizenship students received their grades back today and completed a self-reflection on how they prepared for their Mocks.

Students have taken this reflection home to discuss with parents/guardians.

There is space for it to be signed by parents/guardians and return in session time tomorrow.

Well done to year 11 for their hard work around their mocks!

Working hard in crew

Crews focus this week has been revision for upcoming GCSE assessments. On Monday we looked at History revision-focusing on People’s Health for a mock assessment.

Tuesday the Spanish students had a targeted Spanish session which students found really useful.

And Wednesday crew look at ways to relax to ensure they don’t burn out!

As always crew are working their socks off.

Great work!

Well what fantastic half term X25 have had. They have visited Elland Road to look at Post 16 options, booked places for work experience and hit the ground running in sessions.

As Crew leaders we are extremely proud of X25 and are really looking forward to working towards GCSE success.

Doncaster College Taster Day

C25 students attended a taster day at Doncaster College on Tuesday 28th June 2022. The year 10 students attended a session of their choosing where they discovered how that course is delivered at the college and were given a small taste of college life. They had the opportunity to tour the extended site to give them an insight into everything that the college can offer on their 16-18 programme and also the university centre. They also had lunch and attended a lecture theatre where they learned more about what Doncaster College deliver in both technical courses, T levels and apprenticeships. The students came away from the day smiling and full of ideas about the next step in their academic journey once they complete GCSEs next year and fly the XP/East nest. More photos on Sharing Beautiful Stories on Friday.

Doncaster College Taster Day Tuesday 28th June

On Tuesday year 10 from both schools will be attending a Doncaster College taster day for our wonderful C25 students. All students are advised to bring a packed lunch; if free school meals then a lunch voucher will be provided by the college. Coach leaves school at 8.45 and students will be back in school before the end of the school day. Students have been emailed their schedule and dress code, safety boots are provided where necessary. Each student will have an opportunity to get a taste of the subject they chose and a tour of the campus. The college’s recent Ofsted gave them good with several outstanding elements and have a large range of non A level subjects and apprenticeships available. https://www.don.ac.uk/school-leavers/. This is a fantastic opportunity that we have been unable to offer previous year groups.

XP laying down the law!

What a fantastic two days students across XP and XP East have had!

On Tuesday, Citizenship students, who have been studying the role of the police, and their year group were involved in 3 seminars from Doncaster Police and South Yorkshire Fire and Rescue. These included Road Safety, Gun and Knives and Exploitation.

After a fantastic Tuesday, things only got more exciting here at XP today…
Students listened to a talk regarding Dog Handling and were introduced to not one, but two real life police dogs! Isn’t Hudson wonderful?
If that wasn’t enough, students were given time to ask all their pressing questions in a Q&A session. Students also experienced all the equipment police officers are trained to use, including riot gear and operating police cars.
A fantastic two days had by all students and staff! #WeAreCrew

X25 Presentation of Learning

Just a reminder that X25 will have their STEAM presentation of learning on Tuesday 17th.  We’ll start at 5pm and expect to finish around 6pm.  Students will be expected to stay on site between the end of school sessions at 3.15 and the start of the PoL.  They are welcome to bring snacks to keep their energy up while they prepare for the event!

We look forward to seeing you in the heart of the school on Tuesday where year 8 will teach you some Maths and take you on a walking tour of the evolutionary history of our planet!
