Crew Lovelace

Even as GCSE preparation ramps up, everyone is taking it in their stride and showing real maturity, supporting each other, calling out positive behaviour, and celebrating those who go above and beyond.

Here are a few well-deserved praises from this week:

💬 From Miss Cross (English):
“I really enjoyed working with Alfie, Bentley, and Lewis (from another crew) today. Your recall of key events from the novel was excellent!”

💬 From Miss Mountain (Maths):
“Amazing attitude and effort from Finlay whilst rearranging formulae — really impressed with your work today!”

💬 From Miss Warwick (Spanish):
“Lovely work from Seb researching a Spanish-speaking celebrity and creating a fantastic fact file!”

🌟 A special shoutout to Jess, who received 10 praises this week and is currently top of the leaderboard — well done!

As we head into the final week of term, we’ll also be having a big push on keeping phones in bags to help everyone stay focused and finish the term strong.

Keep it up, Crew Lovelace, so proud of the effort, teamwork, and positivity you’re showing every single day!

Crew Breakfast for Crew Kelly X29 ❤️

This morning, Crew Kelly enjoyed a special breakfast together to celebrate Nyler’s final day at school. For over three years, Nyler has been an important and valued member of our crew. Although we will really miss her, we are excited for her to start her new, drama-focused adventure! 🫶🏼

X29 Skipper – A Change Really is Doing You Good!

X29 Skipper are approaching GCSE English with the mentality of champions. Our expedition is called ‘A Change Will Do You Good’ and I cannot help but admire the change in you all. Your focus, hard work and positive attitude is shining in all our lessons and I cannot help but leave them with a big smile on my face.

All your effort is also reflected in quality of your books and the amazing Quality and Craftsmanship shown. This is how you get smart. Keep it up guys!

Crew Lovelace – Year 10: Off to a Flying Start!

Crew Lovelace have had an absolutely amazing start to the term! It’s been fantastic to see everyone settling back into routines and showing real maturity, dedication and focus as we dive into Year 10.

Of course, we all make the occasional slip-up along the way, but what’s been even more impressive is how Crew Lovelace are owning their choices and putting things right with maturity and responsibility. That’s the mark of real growth, and it makes me incredibly proud to be their Crew Leader. 🌟

A special shout out to our top 3 praises this week: Aylish, Sara and Martha! Your hard work and attitude are shining through, keep it up!

There have been lots of positives across the whole crew, so keep an eye out for future blog posts where we’ll continue to celebrate all the brilliant things happening in Crew Lovelace. 💛

9 Skipper Fully Immersed in Wordsworth

The GCSE nature poems will be a key part of our ‘It’s Not Easy Being Green’ expedition. Today 9 Skipper got up close and personal with nature as we started to consider our relationship with nature.

They completed a very mindful Do Now task taking some time to really look at and handle a carnation.

This allowed them to dive into to William Wordsworth’s ‘I Wandered Lonely as a Cloud’ and collaboratively produce some stunning annotations.

This is how we Get Smart ahead of GCSEs. Keep working hard because you will see the rewards!

Proud of you all.

Crew Lovelace

Our crew had the task of sorting through our lost property pile this morning. This is a role as part of our Duke of Edinburgh volunteering section. If you recognise anything in here, please can you send your child to collect from XP office. Thank you.
