C28: Exciting opportunity for optional fieldwork to Valencia in February 2025!

I am pleased to announce that there is a brilliant opportunity for C28 students for optional languages and cultural heritage fieldwork to Valencia 14th – 17th February 2025. The fieldwork will include various cultural visits, such as a tour of the world-famous Mestalla football stadium, a paella cooking workshop, a visit to Valencia Cathedral and old town, a flamenco workshop, and a visit to the City of Arts and Sciences museum. Please see the letter below for details. Students will receive a hard copy of this letter to take home with them tomorrow morning. 

Places for the fieldwork are limited, and there is a tight turnaround on registering interest in order to secure places. To register interest for your child, please fill in the Google form linked here by no later than Monday 29th April. There will be a randomised draw to allocate places, and students will be notified of place allocation on Tuesday 30th April, as the initial deposit of £150 is then due in by no later than Thursday 9th May.

The School Age Immunisation Team will deliver the School Leaver Booster and Meningitis vaccinations to all Year 9 (C28)

On 17/04/2024, students will have the opportunity to have their School Leaver Booster and Meningitis at school with the RDASH immunisation team visiting. Emails with the attached link to confirm consent (YES or No) need to be filled in and sent. The emails were sent to each parent or carer on Monday, 11th March. If you can’t see the email in your inbox, ensure you check your junk mail.

Christmas Jumper Day – Thursday 7th December

I know it’s November – but I wanted to let you know so you have the time to get organised (and buy a Christmas jumper if you wanted to)

XP & XPE will be celebrating Christmas Jumper Day on Thursday 7th December and asking pupils to bring in a donation that will go to the charity ‘Save the Children’

Christmas dinner will also be served at both schools on this day.

New Year 9/C28 – First Week Back August 2023

🚨Update – Please can all Y9 parents complete the consent forms below by 25th August (if you haven’t already done so)- this is to allow your child to attend the Flamborough Head Hike🚨

We are excited to share our first week back plans with you for the new academic year 2023/2024.

Key documents here:

  • Medical consent form via email: This must be completed by 19th July. Should this form not be completed it may result in your child/children not attending the Flamborough Head Hike.

New Y9/C28 parents only!

  • Parent letter: Details and timing regarding the fieldwork. Including kit list and recommendations which will support the hike.

For the most part of the week, students will be based at their respective school (Tuesday, Thursday, Friday). Start and finish times will remain the same 8:30 – 15:15

  • Note Time Change: Wednesday 30th August 2023 – This is due to us embarking on our Flamborough Head Hike – 08:00 – 16:30
