This week has been another phenomenal week in PE. Monday saw 30 students turn up to badminton practice with fixtures coming thick and fast. The first being this Thursday, where we will host Sir Thomas Wharton and Ridgewood.
Tuesday saw our cheerleaders have their first session with Miss Bowser. There were plenty in attendance and we can’t to see the progress our students are making towards a final performance.
Wednesday we had another great turnout for Netball practice. We have fixtures organised for Y7/8/9. If any students want to give it a go, it is great to meet new people and gain fundamental skills towards lifelong physical activity!
Mr Currie and Mr Fawley had the opportunity to take eight Year 7 boys to a develop and play tournament against 7 other schools. The boys won 1 drew 3 and lost 2. The idea of the tournament was to give boys the chance to play in an extra curricular fixture with other schools while developing skills. This was a fantastic turnout by all schools and the courage, attitude and respect from every single student who took part was staggering.
Throughout the week our Y7/8/9 PE lessons have been delivered by club Doncaster students who are aspiring coaches and teaches. The way in which our students conducted themselves was fantastic and we look forward to the students coming in again to deliver sessions next week.
Finally we have a girls national cup fixture today which will see our Y7/8 football team go up against a school from the Lincolnshire area. We wish the girls good luck this afternoon!
Thank you to all our students who have engaged in PE and Extra curricular this week. The support we have had from staff, students and parents has been overwhelming.
Have a lovely weekend! Team PE.
