We have been informed of a case of Head Lice by one of our parents. Please can you check your child’s hair and comb daily with a fine tooth comb.
- Treatment with a recommended lotion should be used if living/moving Head Lice are found.
- Comb daily with a fine comb and ordinary hair conditioner. Keep the teeth of the comb in contact with the scalp at all times.
- Head lice can’t move when they are wet so you are best checking your child’s hair for head lice when you are washing it. They move too quickly in dry hair to be seen.
- Head lice prefer clean hair.
- Because the eggs are see through and stick to the hair despite any treatment it is important to repeat combing daily over a 2 week period.
- It is important to treat the whole family – not just the child.
