Issue No: 2. Month: June
I can’t believe we are in the middle of June already! We are beginning to invite our new C29 students and parents into school for ambassador tours and meetings for these families. It has been awesome to see our students share their school, portfolios and beautiful work.
Last week we welcomed 50 visitors from schools around the country to learn more about crew and expeditionary learning - they were absolutely blown away by the courage, respect and integrity shown by our students.
We have reintroduced our after-school restorative reflection this half term for students who need to reflect on their behavioural choices. We are requesting parent
al support with this when teaching staff feel an after school restorative reflection is required.
I’d like to publicly appreciate Mrs Burns. She has shared the following with C25 and C24 students to support them with careers planning. Use this link for free webinars to support all things next steps and CV - click on the link to register; Please find details of sessions on offer below.

Our device scheme has reopened this week if any parents are wanting to purchase an iPad to support their children in school please see the link on our school websites. In addition, if you want to discuss the contribution prices, please reach out to your child’s crew leader or Mr Tucker to support with this, at XP we pride ourselves on removing barriers to education for our students. Please reach out if cost of an iPad is a barrier to engagement with the scheme.
Miss O’Grady and the PE department engaged our BTEC C25 and C26 students in aspirational expert visits earlier this term. The students talked positively about these sessions.! https://xpschool.org/a-future-in-sport/
We are looking forwards to hearing all about the planned fieldwork for C26 and C27 later this term. We are also excited to invite experts into school over the coming weeks for many of our expeditions.
Mr Stables and the PE department have created a great enrichment offer for our students to access over the rest of the term, in addition we have increased the supervision outdoors to allow access to more of our sporting facilities at breaks and lunchtimes.
We have been reflecting on issues raised by the students in crew this last few weeks, responding to this with community meetings led by EPIC Doncaster, we have also hosted the Tik-Tok famous band ‘Here at Last’ to share their messages around mental health.
