Year 9 Fieldwork Admiral Thursday 26 and Skipper Tuesday 31 January

As part of our current expedition in Y9 students are producing an educational poster for English Heritage which will be displayed in their education facility at Conisbrough Castle. The resource will be used by primary school students who visit the site to help them understand Anglo-Saxon England and the Norman Conquest. Our students are currently studying this period of history for their History GCSE Paper 1.

To help our students better understand the design brief and to extend their knowledge of this time period we have been invited by English Heritage to carry out fieldwork later this month. Admiral will visit the site on Thursday 26 January and Skipper on the 31 January.

As we will be outside for part of the day students will need to wrap up warm, have waterproofs handy and wellingtons/boots. In addition, students will need to bring a packed lunch as we won’t be back for lunch. We will leave after crew and be back before the end of the school day.

I’m sure you will agree this is an exciting and prestigious product that we have been asked to create and we are looking forward to working with English Heritage!
