Dear Parents and Carers.
Please find in this post a quick update to Exam preparations taking place in Science at XP
Revision is beginning to take centre stage in Science, with our weekly quizzes on each Friday. Two week prior to this a Seneca task is set and to begin student revision of the topics. Please encourage your child to complete these tasks and then use the week before the test to target their revision on any difficulties and to seek help if they need to.

Next up is the Energy Calculations topic.
After each test a video will be posted in google classroom to review the answers. An example can be found here. Spending 30 minutes reviewing the exam papers is a great way to revise.
Please also encourage your child to use our “How to revise in Science” guide. This resource explains useful study strategies for learning science content.
The Mock exam on the 18th of March will follow the recent Exam board guidance on the content, so any revision done for this will support revision for the GCSE exams in May. This is listed under the Physics Paper 1 heading.
Teaching of new content continues. Students have been shared a list of lesson topics and videos to watch before and after sessions to help them learn this new material as quickly as possible.
The list can be found here, and students have an individual copy in Google Classroom to keep brief notes once they have watched the video.
Finally to support the assessment of the practical aspects of the course. Year 11 XP students will be invited in on the two teacher days to be immersed in four of the required practicals named by the Exam Board. Students will be invited to attend a morning and afternoon session on the 11th and 13th of March. A letter will be sent to confirm the details.
