X24 Romeo and Juliet Performance

As the X24 Human expedition Rebellion draws to a close we have been spending time in session writing our answer to the guiding question and reflecting on the past fifteen weeks. A massive highlight of this project was the performance of Romeo and Juliet, where all fifty students showed such courage to perform to such a large audience.

I am so proud of every student in X24 for the incredible hard work that went into the performance and the expedition as a whole. I look forward to seeing the students continue to create beautiful work in the next expedition.

X24 Fieldwork 2nd and 3rd April

X24 students will be out on fieldwork for two days next week.

On Tuesday 2nd April we will be travelling to Sheffield as part of the immersion for our new STEAM expedition.  The fieldwork will take place during the day so students should arrive at school at the normal time.  Lunch will be provided.

On Wednesday 3rd April we will be on Humanities fieldwork but will need to leave school at 8am and will arrive back at 4.15pm  Students will need to bring a packed lunch and should have coats and sensible shoes for walking outside as there will be a 10 minute walk from the coach stop to our destination.

X24 Xblock – Clay hearts

What a fantastic morning…today X1 and X2 constructed hearts out of clay. This is before the challenge of making their chosen organs out of clay…but a little bit bigger. I wanted to give them the experience of moulding, manipulating and adding extra pieces of clay such as the aorta and the pulmonary veins. Excited for them to start their product next week.

X24 – XBlock Art

X24 have been working on their linear organ drawings and using variation of line to record the detail. Some beautiful work have been refined and they are now ready to create their chosen organ out of clay.

For extended study they need to research their chosen organ: find four images of that organ, explain the function and share it with myself ‘Hcross’.

Butterflies, butterflies and more butterflies

Well what an amazing week for X24! This week students have worked exceptionally hard in all sessions. From delivering presentations in STEAM, to becoming detectives researching the Ku Klux Klan, nothing has phased them! Here are some of the students who received a praise butterfly to reward their hard work and effort this week.

Congratulations to all of you! Keep up the hard work!

C23 Presentation of Learning

The Year 8 Presentation of Learning will take place on Tuesday 8th May for Skipper and Wednesday 9th May for students in Admiral.  The evening will be held at The Point in Doncaster at 5.30pm. We have chosen The Point as it provides students the opportunity to perform their poetry to an authentic audience and in the home of Doncaster Community Arts.  Students will need to be collected from the venue not from School at 6.30pm. Students are looking forward to sharing their hard work with you.

If you have any concerns please do not hesitate to contact School.
