Crew Brunel: A Strong Start

Although it’s been a shorter week, Crew Brunel has hit the ground running after the two week break!

We’ve taken these first few days to re-establish our routines, remind ourselves of the school norms and non-negotiables, and get back into the flow of learning. It’s been great to reconnect, shake off the holiday haze, and start strong as a crew. This week also marked the beginning of our new Expedition, and we’ve jumped straight into immersion.

But it’s not all been work and no play. One of the highlights was ending the week with a fun, Easter-themed Crew session. From sweet treats to light-hearted activities, it was a lovely way to wrap up our return and celebrate being back together.

Here’s to a strong start and an even stronger term ahead!

Year 10 Mock Exams

Dear Parents and Families of Students in Year 10,

Our Year 10 students are now at a stage in Key Stage 4 where they are ready to undertake their first round of mock GCSE examinations. These will take place during the week commencing April 28th. As this is the first set of mocks students have done, it will not be a full set, and instead students will sit a small sample from each of our core subjects to get them used to the process of preparing and sitting exams. Please see the timetable attached below.

C29 Presentation of learning

Good Morning parents,

Year 9 will be presenting their learning for their expedition “You give me fever” on Wednesday 16th April, 4:15 – 5:45.

This is a whole year 9 event in which your child will be showcasing their learning in a health conference. It is an integral part of XP culture for students to have this opportunity and is crucial to their development in school and afterwards therefore attendance is, as ever, compulsory. 

If you or your child is unable to attend please contact the crew leader who will let us know. If there are any students absconding from POL they will be expected to present to a group of peers and staff in school.

Year 11 Easter Study Sessions

Please see attached our in-school study offer for over the Easter break. The timetable has been updated to include an additional 3D Design session on Monday 7th April.

Morning sessions will run from 10am – 12pm, and afternoon sessions will run from 12:30 – 2:30pm (with the exception of BTEC Sport on 10.04.2025, which will run from 9:30am).

All sessions will take place in XP East’s building, so students should head there to meet staff.

These sessions will really support each subject so if you can attend, please do.
