Having stood outside in the cold today, whilst doing the project first!
Can I recommend that all students bring a warm coat for the next few days for part of the immersion activities that we have planned.

- Students need to do a first draft of an informative article about the Loma Prieta (1989) or Port au Prince (2010) earthquake. As part of the product preparation students need to draft five multiple choice questions using the template they have been given. If students lose their paper copy an electronic copy is available on Google Classroom.
The deadline for this work is Wednesday 19th April.
Year 8 Skipper and Admiral have a specific earthquake or tsunami to research. This research needs to be completed by Friday 24th March so that students can begin writing their scientific article from Monday 27th March.
As students will be writing scientific articles they will need their devices each session over the forthcoming weeks.

Could I also ask that parents and carers do not send students with anything containing peanuts as we have a student with allergies to peanuts, also if students require an inhaler they must bring one with them on the day.
As part of the expedition Disaster!, students will carry out Fieldwork at the Natural History Museum, London, on Thursday 30th March 2017. Students will be travelling by coach to London and will therefore need to arrive at school no later than 6.15 am ready for a 6.30 am departure. We will arrive back at school later that evening at around 7.00 pm, depending on traffic. All students except those on Free School Meals will need to bring a packed lunch, and may want to bring some money for the Services on the way home where there will be an opportunity to eat, or bring a double packed lunch instead.
We ask that any students who are travel sick take their medication in good time, sit at the front of the bus, and pass their return journey medication to myself or their Crew leader.

Your task is to complete the flooding cascading consequences chart that we started in last session on Friday. As we agreed in class, this needs to be completed for Wednesday 25th January.

Students in Year 8 have two pieces of I Am Learning work to complete over the weekend. The due date is Monday 23rd Jan at 8.00. All students should check Google Classroom for further guidance and mark as ‘done’ on classroom when completed.
Year 8 have two sets activities to complete; one on I am Learning (skeletal system revision) and Mathletics (averages and pie charts). These need to be completed for Friday morning at 8.30. Please see the sheet attached on Google Classroom with your mathletics on login details.
