A polite reminder to all parents and students that all Year 8 students will be going out on fieldwork this Thursday 8th to view the ‘Animals Inside Out’ exhibition at the Life Centre in Newcastle.

Due to the travel time to our destination and to avoid heavy traffic, all students are asked to be at school no later than 07.50, ready for a prompt departure at 08.00. We are being picked up by coach so is very important that all students are at XP on time so that we are able to complete all activities at the exhibition.

Mr Sprakes has very kindly agreed to drive the school mini bus and collect students who travel by bus from the bus station at the earlier time of 07.30 and will depart for school at 07.40 so that they can be at school on time for the coach.

Students will leave the Life Centre at 14.00 and will aim to arrive back to school at 16.00 for collection by parents. Should there be any delays on our journey back to school, we will update the school website on Front Page News with any new arrival times. Please check the website for this before leaving to collect your son or daughter.

The fieldwork will take place indoors and so will need normal school dress. Students will also need to bring their stationary and a packed lunch. If your son or daughter usually has a dinner provided by school, they will receive a packed lunch from school.

PE X Block

Just a reminder to students and parents that X Block PE sessions will begin this week for Years 7 and 8.

For both year groups sessions will run as follows:

Tuesday: X2

Wednesday: X3

Thursday: X1

Year 7 will begin with handball this term and will just need t-shirt, shorts and trainers.

Year 8 will begin with health and fitness this term and will also need t-shirt, shorts and trainers.

Many thanks

Students in Year 7 Admiral and both classes in Year 8 will begin PE sessions with Club Doncaster Foundation this coming Friday. For the initial session, all students will require shorts, t-shirt, football boots and shin pads. It is essential that all students arrive to school prepared with correct kit so that they can participate fully. In line with our school dress code, we remind parents that the kit outlined above is what we deem appropriate for the activities. As such, leggings, vests and everyday t-shirts are not appropriate. Your support in this is valued greatly and is essential in maintaining the high standards we expect of our students and the responsibility we give them. It is essential that students maintain habits of bringing in kit regularly and ensuring that they have a change of clothes.

After student’s initial sessions, they will be grouped and will take part in different activities which will rotate on a term by term basis.

There will be an additional, optional football training session held after school which all students are welcome to attend, including those in Year 9. This session ends at 16.15 at which time school will be closed.

Students not attending the training session will finish school at 15.15 where school will close and there will be no extended study provision.

Thanks again for your continued support, it is much appreciated. If there are any questions or concerns, please contact Mr Voltaire.
